Wittman Regional Airport (KOSH) is a public airport located in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, serving Winnebago County and the surrounding region. Under normal operations it handles general aviation and limited commercial traffic, but it transforms dramatically each summer into one of the busiest airports in the world. Every year, the airport hosts EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, an annual fly-in convention organized by the Experimental Aircraft Association. During that week-long event, the airport handles over 10,000 aircraft movements per day at peak periods, making it temporarily busier than O'Hare or Atlanta. The event draws hundreds of thousands of attendees from around the globe. The airport is named after Steve Wittman, a legendary air racing pilot and aircraft designer who was based in Oshkosh for much of his career. Outside of the AirVenture period, the airport supports general aviation, charter operations, and regional connectivity.
