Al Taji Army Air Field (ICAO: ORTI) is a military airfield located near the town of Taji, approximately 30 kilometers north of Baghdad, Iraq. It has historically served as a key Iraqi military installation and was associated with the Iraqi Army aviation assets. The airfield gained international attention during the 2003 invasion of Iraq and subsequent coalition operations, being used by both Iraqi and coalition military forces. Camp Taji, the adjacent military base, became a significant US and coalition forces installation during the occupation period. Following the drawdown of US forces, the facility was returned to Iraqi military control. In more recent years, it has been the site of rocket attacks targeting coalition personnel, reflecting ongoing security tensions in the region.
