Remote Pakistani airfield with significant strategic history.

Location
Washuk, Pakistan
Shamsi Airfield, also known as Bandari Airfield, is a remote military airstrip located in the Washuk District of Balochistan Province, Pakistan. The facility sits in a sparsely populated desert region and has no commercial aviation operations. The airfield gained international attention when it was reportedly used by the United States as a base for CIA drone operations targeting militants in the Afghan-Pakistani border region following the September 11 attacks. Pakistan demanded the United States vacate the facility in 2011 following a NATO airstrike that killed Pakistani soldiers, and American forces subsequently withdrew. Today the airfield remains under Pakistani military control. It has no public terminal infrastructure, commercial flights, or passenger services, and functions strictly as a restricted military installation.
