Naval Air Station North Island (NASNI), officially designated Halsey Field, is a major U.S. Navy installation located on the northern portion of Coronado Island in San Diego, California. It serves as the homeport for several carrier air wings and is one of the largest naval aviation complexes in the world. The station hosts a wide range of naval aircraft, including helicopters, carrier-based jets, and maritime patrol planes. It plays a central role in U.S. Pacific Fleet operations and is home to Commander, Naval Air Forces (CNAF). As a military airfield, NAS North Island is not open to commercial passenger traffic. Its IATA code (NZY) is used primarily for military logistics, cargo scheduling, and official travel purposes.
