Glenorchy Airport (ICAO: NZGY) is a small general aviation airstrip located near the township of Glenorchy at the northern end of Lake Wakatipu in the Otago region of New Zealand's South Island. It serves as a base for scenic flights, charter operations, and light aircraft access to one of New Zealand's most remote and scenic areas, close to the Mt Aspiring National Park. The airstrip is unpaved and caters primarily to small private and charter aircraft. It plays a supporting role in tourism operations around Glenorchy, a region popular for tramping, horse trekking, and as a filming location for major motion pictures including the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
