Moffett Federal Airfield (IATA: NUQ, ICAO: KNUQ) is a joint civil-military airport located in Mountain View, California, adjacent to NASA Ames Research Center in the heart of Silicon Valley. Originally built as a naval air station in the early 1930s, the facility is renowned for its massive historic hangars constructed to house U.S. Navy dirigibles. The airfield is jointly operated by NASA and the U.S. Air Force, and is not open to the general commercial aviation public.
