Aerotortuguero Airport (ICAO: MRAO) is a small general aviation airstrip located near Roxana, in the Limón Province of Costa Rica. It primarily serves as a gateway to Tortuguero National Park, a remote rainforest and wetland area accessible mainly by air or boat due to the absence of road connections. The airport handles light charter and scheduled prop-aircraft flights, mostly connecting passengers from San José to the ecotourism hub of Tortuguero. It plays an important role in supporting the local tourism economy centered on sea turtle nesting sites and wildlife watching. Due to its remote jungle setting, the facility is modest in infrastructure, with a short unpaved or semi-paved runway suitable only for small aircraft. No commercial jet service operates here.
