Mekele Alula Aba Nega Airport is the principal airport serving Mekele, the capital of the Tigray Region in northern Ethiopia. Named after Alula Aba Nega, a renowned 19th-century Ethiopian military commander from the region, the airport plays a vital role in connecting Tigray to the rest of Ethiopia.
