Lahm, a Mansfield native and pioneering U.S. Army aviator who was among the first military officers to fly with the Wright Brothers. The airport supports commercial passenger service, general aviation, military operations, and cargo flights. It is home to the Ohio Air National Guard's 179th Airlift Wing, which operates C-130H Hercules aircraft and represents a significant portion of the airport's activity. Commercial service at MFD has historically been limited, with the airport serving smaller regional markets.
