Svalbard Airport, Longyear (LYR/ENSB) is the main airport serving Longyearbyen, the largest settlement in the Svalbard archipelago, located approximately 78° North latitude. It is one of the northernmost commercial airports in the world and serves as the primary entry point for residents, researchers, tourists, and government personnel traveling to Svalbard. The airport is operated by Avinor, Norway's state-owned airport operator, and handles scheduled passenger services as well as cargo, search-and-rescue, and government flights.
