It is one of two airports serving the Wiener Neustadt area, the other being Wiener Neustadt West Airport (ICAO: LOXN), which hosts the Diamond Aircraft production facility. Today it primarily supports general aviation operations, flight training, gliding, and skydiving activities. LOAN does not serve scheduled commercial passenger flights and has no IATA code assigned.
