Location
Lanai City, United States
Lanai Airport (LNY/PHNY) is a small general aviation and commuter airport located on the island of Lanai, Hawaii, serving Lanai City and the surrounding resort areas. It is owned and operated by the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation and functions primarily as an interisland hub for visitors traveling to the luxury resorts owned by Larry Ellison. The airport handles a modest volume of passengers, mostly tourists and residents connecting via interisland flights from Honolulu and Maui. Its facilities are simple and compact, reflecting the small population and exclusive nature of the island it serves. Lanai is one of Hawaii's smaller inhabited islands, and the airport plays a vital logistical role for the community given that the island has no major port for passenger travel. Charter and private aircraft also make regular use of the facility.
Terminals
The airport has a single small terminal building with basic passenger amenities suited for interisland commuter operations.
Getting to & from
Ground transportation from the airport to Lanai City and the island's resorts is available via shuttle services and rental vehicles, as the island has no public bus system.
Airlines here
Mokulele Airlines provides scheduled interisland service, with connections primarily to Honolulu and Kapalua on Maui.
