Pratica di Mare Air Base is a major Italian Air Force installation located near Pomezia, approximately 30 kilometers south of Rome in the Lazio region. It serves as one of the most important military airfields in Italy, hosting numerous aviation units and supporting a wide range of defense operations. The base is home to the Reparto Sperimentale Volo (RSV), Italy's military flight test center, which conducts experimental and evaluation flights for new aircraft and systems entering service with the Italian Armed Forces. It also supports transport, search-and-rescue, and other specialized military missions. Pratica di Mare has historically been the venue for the International Air Show 'Air Show Pratica di Mare,' one of the largest airshows in Europe, drawing large crowds and international participants. The base does not serve commercial passenger traffic.
