Istrana Air Base (ICAO: LIPS) is a military airfield operated by the Italian Air Force (Aeronautica Militare), located near the town of Istrana in the Treviso province of the Veneto region in northeastern Italy. It serves as a key tactical air defense installation and has historically been home to fighter interceptor units. The base has hosted several Italian Air Force squadrons over the decades, including units equipped with the Eurofighter Typhoon. It plays an active role in NATO air policing missions and Italian national air defense. The base is not open to civilian commercial traffic and has no public passenger facilities. Istrana has historical significance dating back to World War I, when it was used as a frontline airfield by Italian and Allied forces.
