Kecskemét Air Base (ICAO: LHKE) is a Hungarian Air Force installation located near Kecskemét, a city in central Hungary approximately 85 kilometres southeast of Budapest. The base serves as one of the primary operational airfields of the Hungarian Defence Forces and has historically been the home of Hungarian fighter aviation. The base is well known for hosting the Kecskemét International Air Show (Kecskeméti Repülőnap), one of the largest airshow events in Central Europe, which draws hundreds of thousands of visitors and features military and civilian display teams from across Europe. As a military facility, Kecskemét Air Base does not operate scheduled commercial passenger services. It has hosted JAS 39 Gripen fighter jets, which form the backbone of Hungary's air defence capability following the country's NATO accession.
