Avord Air Base (Base Aérienne 702) is a major French Air and Space Force installation located near the town of Avord in the Cher department of central France. It serves as a primary hub for French military aviation training and strategic air operations, hosting the E-3F Sentry airborne early warning and control aircraft as well as the COTAM transport training mission. The base plays a critical role in France's national defense posture, supporting NATO missions and French sovereign operations. It is not open to civilian commercial traffic and has no passenger terminal facilities for public use.
