Whiting Field Naval Air Station South Airport (ICAO: KNDZ) is a military airfield located near Milton, Florida, in Santa Rosa County. It serves as one of two runway complexes at Naval Air Station Whiting Field, the other being the North field (KNSE). The installation is a major hub for U.S. Navy and Marine Corps primary flight training. NAS Whiting Field is one of the busiest military aviation training installations in the world, producing more naval aviators and naval flight officers than any other training base. It operates under the command of Training Air Wing Five (TRAWING 5) and hosts squadrons flying the T-6B Texan II and TH-73A helicopters. The facility does not serve commercial passengers and is restricted to military and authorized government operations. Its location in the Florida Panhandle provides favorable flying weather conditions for year-round training operations.
