Cengiz Topel Airport is a military-origin airfield located in Kartepe, in the Kocaeli Province of northwestern Turkey. It was formerly known as Topel Naval Air Station and served as a base for the Turkish Naval Air Force before being repurposed for civilian use. The airport is named after Cengiz Topel, a Turkish Navy pilot who was shot down and killed during the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation. The facility has been developed to support civil aviation in the greater Kocaeli region, which lies between Istanbul and Ankara along the Marmara coast. Commercial operations at the airport have been limited, and it primarily serves as a regional and general aviation facility. Its proximity to the industrial Kocaeli area has driven interest in expanding its civil aviation capacity.

Cengiz Topel Naval Air Station, a.k.a. Topel Airport or formerly Cengiz Topel Air Base, is a Turkish Navy air station located east of İzmit in Kocaeli Province, Turkey. The airport is in joint use for military and civil. Restructured in 1976, it hosts the Turkish Naval Aviation Command with two flying units, the 301st Squadron of fixed-wing aircraft and the 351st Squadron of rotorcrafts.
