Wittmundhafen Air Base (ICAO: ETNT) is a military airfield operated by the German Air Force (Luftwaffe), located near the town of Wittmund in Lower Saxony, Germany. It serves as a frontline tactical fighter base and has historically been one of Germany's primary interceptor stations protecting the North Sea approaches. The base is most closely associated with the Eurofighter Typhoon, which replaced earlier aircraft types in German service. It is home to Jagdgeschwader 71 'Richthofen,' one of the Luftwaffe's most storied fighter wings, named after World War I ace Manfred von Richthofen. The airfield has no civilian passenger operations and is not open to the general public.
