Casement Aerodrome, officially known as Casement Air Base, is the principal military airfield of the Irish Air Corps, located at Baldonnel in County Dublin, approximately 15 kilometres southwest of Dublin city centre. It serves as the headquarters and main operating base for the Irish Air Corps, hosting fixed-wing aircraft and helicopter squadrons used for military, maritime patrol, and government transport missions. The base is named after Sir Roger Casement, the Irish nationalist and humanitarian executed in 1916. It is a restricted military facility and is not open to civilian commercial air traffic, though it occasionally hosts airshows and official state flights. The Irish Air Corps operates a range of aircraft from Casement, including the PC-9M trainer, the C295 maritime patrol aircraft, and various helicopter types.
