RAF Cosford is a Royal Air Force base located near Cosford in Shropshire, England. It serves as an active military airfield and is home to No. 1 Radio School and several other RAF training units. The station has played a role in British military aviation since the Second World War. The site is perhaps best known publicly as the home of the RAF Museum Cosford, one of the largest aviation museums in the United Kingdom. The museum houses an extensive collection of historic military aircraft and is open to the public free of charge. As a military airfield, RAF Cosford does not operate scheduled commercial passenger services. It hosts periodic air shows and military aviation events that attract large public audiences.
