King Salmon Airport (AKN/PAKN) is a public-use airport located in King Salmon, Alaska, situated along the Naknek River near Bristol Bay. It serves as a vital air hub for the surrounding Bristol Bay region, providing connectivity to Anchorage and remote Alaskan communities that have no road access to the outside world. The airport occupies facilities that were originally developed as Naknek Air Force Base during and after World War II, and the airfield retains a long runway legacy from its military heritage. Today it is jointly used by the Federal Aviation Administration and supports commercial, charter, and general aviation traffic.
