Gateway to the tribal heartland of Chhattisgarh.

Location
Ambikapur, India
Maa Mahamaya Airport is a domestic airport serving Ambikapur, the headquarters of Surguja district in the state of Chhattisgarh, India. Named after the revered goddess Maa Mahamaya, the airport provides vital air connectivity to this otherwise remote region of central India. The airport has seen renewed interest under India's UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) regional connectivity scheme, which aims to make air travel accessible to smaller cities across the country. Flights connect Ambikapur to larger hubs such as Raipur, improving accessibility for residents of the Surguja division. The airport infrastructure is modest, befitting a tier-3 city, with limited passenger facilities. Its development is seen as important for boosting tourism, trade, and administrative connectivity in the predominantly tribal and forested Surguja region.
Terminals
The airport has a single small terminal building with basic passenger amenities suited to low-volume domestic operations.
Getting to & from
Ambikapur city centre is accessible from the airport primarily by road via taxis and auto-rickshaws, as there is no dedicated rail or bus rapid transit link.

Alliance Air and other regional carriers have operated or been scheduled to operate routes under the UDAN scheme, primarily connecting Ambikapur to Raipur.
