Air Lituanica was a Lithuanian regional airline that operated as the de facto national carrier of Lithuania. Founded in 2013, the airline was majority-owned by the Lithuanian government and aimed to provide scheduled passenger services connecting Vilnius with key European destinations. The airline operated flights to cities including Amsterdam, Brussels, London, Munich, and Paris, positioning Vilnius Airport as its primary base of operations. It sought to fill the gap left by the collapse of flyLAL in 2009. Air Lituanica ceased operations in March 2015 after failing to secure sufficient financing to continue flying. The airline struggled with financial losses throughout its short existence and was unable to achieve sustainable profitability on its routes.
