Iberia Express is a Spanish low-cost carrier established as a wholly owned subsidiary of Iberia, the flag carrier of Spain. Founded in 2011 and commencing operations in 2012, the airline was created to help Iberia compete more effectively in the short- and medium-haul market against rapidly growing low-cost competitors. Based at Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport, Iberia Express operates a network of routes across Spain, Europe, and select destinations beyond, often serving as a feeder carrier for Iberia's long-haul flights. The airline shares Iberia's branding identity while maintaining a lower cost structure. As a member of the Iberia Group, Iberia Express contributes to the parent company's overall network strategy and participates in interline and codeshare agreements that benefit passengers connecting through Madrid. It has grown steadily since its launch and operates an all-Airbus narrowbody fleet.
