Aeromar, officially known as Transportes Aeromar, was a Mexican regional airline operating scheduled passenger and cargo services primarily within Mexico and to select international destinations. Founded in 1987, the airline became one of Mexico's longest-serving regional carriers, filling an important niche by connecting smaller cities and towns not served by major carriers. The airline operated primarily from Mexico City's Benito Juárez International Airport, offering routes to domestic destinations across Mexico as well as limited service to the United States. Aeromar was known for operating turboprop aircraft suited to shorter regional routes and smaller airstrips. Unfortunately, Aeromar ceased operations in February 2022 after facing severe financial difficulties exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and rising operational costs. The airline's closure marked the end of over three decades of regional aviation service in Mexico.
