The Sikorsky S-58T is a turbine-powered conversion of the piston-engined Sikorsky S-58, originally developed in the 1970s by Sikorsky Aircraft. The conversion replaces the original Wright R-1820 radial piston engine with a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6T-3 Twin Pac coupled turboshaft powerplant, significantly improving performance, reliability, and payload capacity. The S-58T found widespread use in offshore oil support, heavy-lift utility, and passenger operations, particularly in regions where reliability and power were critical. Operators in Southeast Asia, South America, and other markets adopted the type for demanding commercial roles. While no longer in front-line service with major operators, some examples continued to operate with smaller regional and utility operators well into the late 20th and early 21st centuries. The conversion program extended the operational life of many existing S-58 airframes considerably.

The Sikorsky H-34 is an American piston-engined military utility helicopter originally designed by Sikorsky as an anti-submarine warfare (ASW) aircraft for the United States Navy. A development of the smaller Sikorsky H-19 Chickasaw (S-55), the H-34 was originally powered by a radial engine, but was later adapted to turbine power by the British licensee as the Westland Wessex and by Sikorsky as the S-58T. The H-34 was also produced under license in France by Sud Aviation.
