The British Aerospace Jetstream 32 is an improved development of the earlier Jetstream 31, itself derived from the original Handley Page Jetstream design of the late 1960s. BAe introduced the Series 32 with more powerful Garrett TPE331-12 engines, offering improved hot-and-high performance and better overall reliability compared to its predecessor. The aircraft seats up to 19 passengers and was widely adopted by regional and commuter airlines throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Its pressurized cabin gave it an advantage over many competitors in the turboprop commuter segment, allowing operation at higher altitudes and offering a more comfortable passenger experience. Production took place at BAe's Prestwick facility in Scotland. While largely retired from service with major carriers, the Jetstream 32 continues to operate with smaller regional and charter operators around the world.
