The Ilyushin Il-114 is a twin-turboprop regional airliner developed in the Soviet Union during the 1980s, primarily intended to replace aging Antonov An-24 aircraft on domestic routes. Designed by the Ilyushin design bureau, it was built to serve regional and remote destinations across the USSR and its successor states, capable of operating from unpaved and gravel airstrips.
The aircraft entered commercial service in the 1990s, but production was extremely limited due to the economic turmoil following the Soviet collapse. A modernized variant, the Il-114-300, was developed in Russia with updated engines and avionics, with renewed efforts to bring it into production in the 2020s as part of Russia's push for aviation import substitution.
Notable operators
Uzbekistan Airways operated the Il-114 commercially; Russian operators are anticipated for the modernized Il-114-300.
