The Gulfstream V is an ultra-long-range business jet developed by Gulfstream Aerospace, a subsidiary of General Dynamics. It was designed to carry passengers in exceptional comfort over intercontinental distances without refueling stops, representing a significant leap in range capability over its predecessor, the Gulfstream IV. The aircraft features a new supercritical wing design, BMW Rolls-Royce BR710 turbofan engines, and an advanced flight deck with Honeywell avionics. Its range of approximately 12,000 km allowed nonstop flights such as New York to Tokyo, opening new possibilities for executive travel. The Gulfstream V entered service in 1997 and was produced until 2002, when it was succeeded by the Gulfstream G550, which shared the same airframe with improvements. The G-V was also operated by various government and military customers, including as the C-37A in U.S. Air Force service.
