The aircraft entered service in 2003 and quickly became popular in the corporate and charter markets for its combination of range, comfort, and operating economics. It is powered by two Honeywell HTF7000 turbofan engines mounted at the rear of the fuselage.
An improved variant, the Challenger 350, was introduced in 2014, featuring winglets, upgraded engines, and an enhanced cabin. The Challenger 300 platform has accumulated a strong service record globally and remains widely used in business aviation.
