The Airbus A330-800neo is the smaller of two variants in the A330neo (New Engine Option) family, derived from the A330-200. It features CFM International LEAP-1A or Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines paired with new Airspace cabin interiors and aerodynamic improvements, including new composite winglets, delivering significantly improved fuel efficiency over its predecessor. The aircraft is designed for long, thinner routes where a larger widebody would be uneconomical. With a range of approximately 13,900 km and seating for around 220–260 passengers in a typical two-class configuration, it competes directly with the Boeing 787-8. Its development benefited from Airbus's decision to re-engine and upgrade the proven A330 platform rather than design an entirely new aircraft. Despite its capabilities, the A330-800neo attracted relatively few orders compared to its larger sibling, the A330-900neo. It entered commercial service in late 2020 and has seen limited operator uptake, though it remains in production.

Kuwait Airways is among the launch operators; Hawaiian Airlines ordered the type but later canceled; Uganda Airlines operates a small fleet.
